BT to remove the payphone for the centre of Yarnfield because of falling demand for the phone.

BT contactors will soon be removing the payphone on the village green . The level of use of the phone has reduced dramatically since 2021 and in the last 12 months has been used only 13 times.
The parish council contacted BT to see whether the kiosk could be adopted by the council so that it could be used for some other community use. The only use that BT would be prepared to sanction would be to use it as a site for a defibrillator. As there are already two defibrillators close to the village green it is not thought to be necessary to extend cover in this area.
And then it’s gone!
