Defibrillators

Location of defibrillation units

This map shows the locations of defibrillator units within the council area to help residents understand their distribution. It also shows locations submitted by other local councils to build up a national map.

Please note, this map is not definitive and may contain errors. It should not be used for emergency purposes.

In case of emergency, dial 999.

Defibrillator Map

Locations of defibrillators

The parish council has a successful record of fund-raising to install defibrillators in Yarnfield and Cold Meece.

Defibrillators are medical devices that are used to restore normal heart rhythm in people suffering from cardiac arrest. In an emergency, being able to access a defibrillator quickly can be the difference between life and death.

A defibrillator and the cabinet needed to site the unit outside will cost about £1,500.

Future campaigns

We now wants to extend this work to provide a new unit on Ford Drive.

A defibrillator needs an electric power supply for the cabinet. This is usually achieved by siting the cabinet on the outside wall of a community building and tapping into the building’s supply. In some locations, this is not always possible. In these cases, the other option is to take power from the base of a streetlight column. However, this work, which is undertaken by the utility company, will cost about £2,000.

The proposal is to site the defibrillator on the area of open space at the centre of Ford Drive, near the lamp column at the centre of the green.

We would like to see the project completed as soon as possible so that we can extend the network of defibrillators and make this part of Yarnfield a safer place to live. To do this, we need your support. Can you help by making a donation (large or small) to raise the money needed to complete the project?

The parish council will take on the annual cost of maintaining the defibrillator and oversee the regular checks it will require.

Training

Working with local Community First Responder teams and AEDdonate we are able to run training courses on CPR and how to use a defibrillator. If you would like further information please contact the parish clerk.
